My background

Hello! The name is Chhuong (pronounced "CHONG"). I was a former Applications Engineer for an industry leading automation company where I self taught myself how to code in C++, Python, and PLC ladder logic. I am degreed in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from UC Riverside and a graduate from the rigorous and immersive coding bootcamp Hack Reactor. In my off time, I am a huge keyboard enthusiast constantly looking to improve my set up and cat dad to a beautiful ragdoll named Loki.

  • Troubleshoot electronic devices when professors were having issues
  • Log maintainence reports when filters and bulbs were required to be replaced in projectors
  • Research and update manuals on devices that were recently added to campus classrooms
  • Update drivers and software in computer labs
  • Create a logging application in C++ to better record and update logs when changes were made

Anda Technologies

Aug 2019 - May 2021

  • Engineering lead of Anda's R&D department
  • Head developer of data analysis application that is used in tandem with thermal profiler
  • Designed and implemented autonomous firmware on current industry leading fume extraction unit
  • Lead clinics and classes training hundreds of clients and employees on how to efficiently use Anda products
  • Performed routine maintainence on Anda products to ensure longevity

US Chinese Food

Aug 2021 - January 2023

  • Trained 4 employees to transition to take-out only methods during COVID-19 pandemic
  • Followed food safety regulations to guarantee that food was 100% safe for customers to consume
  • Maintained inventory and placed orders to make sure that supply was constantly stocked
  • Acted as head chef when required to maintain quality of service
  • Work with head chef and line cook to maintain constant flow of food to order ratio

Projects

Project 1: Portfolio

A portfolio website that I designed using React and TailwindCSS for the front end and Sanity.io as the back end. By setting up a backend I am able to upload changes without having to change the actual code.

Project 2: Airbnb

I cloned an older version of Airbnb as I preferred it over the new one. I also attempted to mimic the front end capabilities of the old website to get a feel of what it was like to develop this page. In this project I leveraged React, TailwindCss, and Mapbox to create the web application and Sanity.io for the back end to set up where the information and data was coming from.

Project 3: Medium Clone

This is a medium clone that mimics the popular Medium blog website allowing users to view blogs and post comments on them. This was built using React and TailwindCss for the front end and Sanity.io as the backend.

Project 4: Trello Clone 2.0

Here I created a clone of the popular ticket management software Trello! Major functionalities are the ability to move todo columns and tasks within the columns around and the ability to add tasks and their respective images if they are applicable. A feature that I enjoyed adding here was incorporating GPT 3.5 to deliver the user a generalized summary of their tasks. Everything is stored onto the appwrite cloud to persist the data.
